The invisible world

Christian faith is grounded in the reality of a world that transcends what we see with our senses. In this course, we will explore what Newman called "the sacramental principle," whereby visible realities speak to us and refer us to deeper and more real but invisible realities. We will delve into the link between the visible world and the invisible world, what importance this principle has within Christianity, and what practical consequences or applications we can draw from this.

  • Topics
  • The Two Worlds (introduction to the Sacramental Principle).

  • Implications of the Principle: What difference does it make?

  • Applications of the Principle: What is it good for?
